Section 1: Introduction

Technology is advancing every day permitting people to communicate easier, faster, and remotely. The University of Houston, in the College of Technology staying on top of current telecommunication advances is a priority. Therefore, Cisco workshop courses teaching students basic routing procedures have started this year. The need to create a virtual routing lab was necessary to facilitate the students to do their labs without coming to the University laboratory. Therefore, this task was assigned to two undergraduates students (Carlos Medina and Leonel Cortes) from the Computer Network Class. The team will create a virtual lab using GNS3 which is a graphical network simulator that allows the user to design network topologies and run simulations on them. They will have to provide proper documentation, links, and information on how to implement this task.
